Rural crafter, Richard Rood, is joining us at Deepdale Farm through the Winter to teach green woodworking skills. You may have seen Richard in a Pop Up Shops at Dalegate Market, or demonstrating at the Deepdale Spring Market.
Over the next year, we will be developing a range of courses where Richard teaches visitors to work with green wood, creating beautiful items for the home. At the moment we are offering a 1-day course, an introduction to green woodworking.
Introduction to Green Woodworking Course – 1 Day
One day taster course introducing
- Properties and handling of green wood
- Getting familiar with tools such as the draw knife and the pole lathe
- Make and take home a selection of objects such as a dibber, spurtle, spatula or door wedge
All necessary tools are supplied by the instructor.
Please wear clothing suitable to work under cover but outdoors, ie multiple layers.
Please bring a packed lunch to enjoy in the barn or courtyard. Hot drinks will be provided.
There is a maximum of four people per session.
