|
Additional Costs |
There are two additional costs on
arrival depending on where you are staying. If you are staying in one of
the hostels we ask for a £10 key deposit per key which is refundable at the
end of your stay once you have returned each of the keys. If you have paid
your booking using a credit/debit card then you can use the credit/debit
card details as security against the key and we will only debit your account
if you lose the key, alternatively you can pay cash. If you have paid the
booking using cash or cheque then the key deposits will have to be in cash. If you are staying in one of our tipis, there is a £20 cleaning deposit
required which is refundable at the end of your stay if the tipi is left in
the same state that you find it and nothing has been broken. |
|
Advance Bookings |
We can’t always guarantee we will
have a space available so we strongly recommend that you book in advance to
avoid disappointment. We are usually full on bank holidays weekends, many
weekends during the year and throughout July and August, so let us know your
plans as soon as possible. If however you turn up and we are full we can
try and find somewhere else for you to stay.
In advanced bookings, Friday and
Saturday have to be booked together. |
|
Age Limits |
Strictly no one under 21 without
adult supervision. Anyone 14 or over is charged as an adult. |
|
Airports |
Norwich
Airport is the most
accessible airport from us. A few minutes by bus from the centre of the
city, the airport is easy to fly to from Amsterdam and a few other European
cities. The main airline is KLM UK.
London Stansted is a short train journey away, to either Norwich or
King's Lynn. Many flight companies fly into Stansted including Germanwings
and Ryanair.
Other London Airports - Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton
- have good rail links into London and then onto Norfolk. There is also a
regular bus service which links Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted with
Norwich, which is called JetLink. |
|
Alcohol |
You are welcome to bring alcohol as
long as you are aware of our no noise after 10pm policy - see
Terms and Conditions. Both of the hostel
kitchens are well-equipped with cork screws and bottle openers. However, if
you are staying on the campsite you will need to bring your own cork screws
and bottle openers. |
|
Animals |
You might spot the chickens – we sell their eggs in the
information centre. We are an arable farm so no livestock is kept here.
There is a local petting farm for small children, complete with Deer Safari,
which is open for day visitors. The farm dogs are two black Labradors called
Guinness and Diggle. |
|
Arrivals - Camping |
If, when you arrive the information
centre is shut, there will be a notice on the back door with contact numbers
and a list of
people who haven’t arrived and their pitch number/s. We ask all campers to
have set up their tent by 9pm to avoid disturbance to other campers during
night time. |
|
Arrivals - Hostels and Tipi

will be a notice on the back door telling you where to go to find the
backpacker who is on call and contact numbers. |
|

|

Brancaster is the nearest sandy
beach and is located 3 miles away – a short bus ride or 1 hour walk (approx)
along the coastal footpath. The next closest beach, Holkham, has recently
been voted the 2nd best beach in Britain and is about a 15 minute
drive/bus ride along the coast road or 3-4 hours walk (approx) along the
coastal footpath |
|

between the hours of 2pm and 9pm. |
|
Location |
Deepdale Farm
is in Burnham Deepdale on the beautiful north Norfolk coast. You can cycle,
sail, walk, bus or drive to the front door.
Norfolk is just over 2 hrs from
London
and access to this part of the world is relatively easy. Just remember that
it's beautiful here because it is rural, so relax and enjoy the journey. At
busy times like Bank Holidays and August journeys times will definitely be
longer. |
|
Luggage Storage |
For people staying in Deepdale
Stables there is a secure luggage storage. We can store your excess luggage
in here whilst you stay with us. |
|
Maps and Books |
We sell

Prices |

It’s called Branodunum. There are
no remains of the fort to see. A notice board erected at the side of the
coastal path gives you some information about it. |
|
Rooms |
In Deepdale Stables all the rooms are en-suite. We
offer private rooms and dormitories. The private rooms (double, twin,
triple and quad) are hired for exclusive use only. Prices in the dorms
are per person. All dorms are mixed sex rooms unless you specify
female or male only or pay for all beds to have exclusive use. |
|
Scolt Head Island |
A regular ferry service operates in
the summer. For groups at quieter times, call Gary Whittaker on 07776 302413
for more details. It is possible to walk out to the island at low tide BUT
DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. The tides can be deceptive and you are likely to get
wet or, even worse, cut off from the mainland. The local coastguard has
spent many hours searching for lost walkers on the salt marshes and it isn’t
a cheap ride home! |
|
Seahenge |
This was a 4,000 year old timber
circle found on the beach at Holme next the Sea. It has now been taken up
to be preserved. We sell a book about Seahenge in the information centre as

From
October to Easter on Sundays when the weather is just that little bit too
cold for a BBQ, we have Spud Nights. We supply the potatoes, you bring the
fillings. Backgammon, WARRI, board games and videos follow. If you are
really lucky Alister and Verily will teach you to play Racing Demon! |
|
Surfing |
East/West Runton, and its nearby
coastline offers the best surfing. Conditions can be checked at
www.eastcoastsurf.co.uk |
