Scrap Heap Art Challenge
9am to 4pm
The Scrap Heap Art Challenge will take place
throughout the day. Artists will be welcome to use any of the recyclable
or scrap items available on the Deepdale site to create sculptures or
art pieces that will then be displayed around the hostels and campsite.
Artists will have from 9am to 3.30pm to create their
artwork, when they will be judged and prizes awarded.
The Scrap Heap Art Challenge will be judged by a small
panel of judges, who will be looking for creativity, unusual use of
recyclable materials and even audience participation. “As a judge I’ll
be looking for an artwork which makes me stop and think”, said Andrea,
one of the judging panel.
Artists will be promoted on the Deepdale website (www.deepdalefarm.co.uk)
and the winning artist or school team will win a stay in a tipi and be
invited to be a judge at next years Scrap Heap Art Challenge.
Interested artists should contact Andrea Bramhall at
Deepdale, Tel: 01485 210256 or Email:

Karen Steadman
www.artoftheordinary.co.uk
I am currently a mature student in my final year at Norwich
University College of the Arts, on the Visual Studies course. I am
passionate about art in the community and love developing creative
ideas with and for others. I am a strong believer that art is for
everyone and can be created by anyone. My work involves designing
and organising community art projects and events. I also enjoy
running workshops. I am happiest when I feel I am encouraging other
people to try something new and get real satisfaction from
uncovering their creativity. |

materials, spreading the message of 'reduce, recycle, reuse'
wherever possible.

Josh Worrall
I am a Fine Art student who mainly
specialises in found objects and previously used items and junk. The
wide range of unwanted objects I find and constantly use provides
new inspiration and ideas to my work. This brings meaning and
purpose by combining, collaging and constructing these objects to
create something new and refreshing. |
