I am disgruntled… displeased… dissatisfied… dischuffed… and any other dis words you can think of. Why? I hear you ask. Simples, it is…

Last night my campsite was on the telly box… with Mummy 2 on it… but not me!

That’s right. I, Jazzie Bramhall-Smith, was passed over in all my collie-ness for Tipi’s and Yurt’s.  There is even proof of this event happening not once… but twice!

Can you believe it? Mummy 2 now think’s she’s some kind of movie star or something and is signing autographs on  my campsite. Is my pawprint not good enough anymore? Is my photograph not enough for my adoring fans? Something must be done about this appalling over sight, or I shall be forced to take matters into my own paws… I will get a camcorder and film my own TV show! I will take over now that Oprah Winfrey has retired… I shall rule the world!

“Jazzie…. Jazzie, wake up… you’re having a doggie-mare….”

A few weeks ago I went to the pet doc’s in Fakenham for a ‘jection for rabies. Apparently this is a nasty disease that makes you spit lots and get really, really, really, really mean. Now the reason that Mummy and the ‘Uman took me for this ‘jection was so that I can have a passport and go on ‘olidays to the conti… contnen… inconti… across the water, and they don’t have to leave me behind. The gov’ment run a scheme called the Pet Passport Scheme. To get one I have to have a rabies ‘jection, a micro-mi-gigy in my neck and I have to make sure that I have all my other vaccina… vacin… vacsin… jabs up to date at all times. Then I get one of these…..

Mummy and Uncle Ian got a new toy this week to play with on my campsite. It is called an ATV (Uncle Ian says it’s his bonus for working for the TPU – that’s the tent peggers union – he says he’s the founder and only member of his little club!).

Since it’s my campsite I decided that I should have a go on the ATV too. I hold my paw up and say I did have a little trouble reaching the gears, so I stayed in first all the time but my steering was fantastic… ‘specially in reverse. I did have to do a little negotiating with Mummy to get on it in the first place, and she said I had to wear a crash hat, googles and elbow pads for health and safety.

I’m not sure it was worth it.

Yesterday me and Jazz was playing with a stick up on the common. I don’t knows how it happened… but she has no got cuts in her throat from it. The ‘Uman says it wasn’t my fault, but we needs to be careful playing with the sticks in the future.

Jazz had to go to the vets - thats doggie hospital – in Fakenham, and she had to be ‘nestha… aneths… anestet… they gave her some drugs to go to sleep so they could ‘zamine her throat properly.

Now she has to have soft food and iScream till her throat is better. And it means I have to go on walks with out her too.

So when you all come and visit Jazzie’s campsite this weekend… please be nice to her. She needs to sleep so you have to give me all her cuddles instead. I will be taking her place on night ‘trolls through her campsite to make sure it’s all tidy and quiet. I’m still a bit scaredy about this but I’m going to be brave for my big sista.

I have become a fan of ‘The Kinks’… they were a band around in the early sixties but Mummy seems to like them even though they were ‘before her time’. Anyway she keeps singing this tune called ‘sunnyafternoon’ by these guys. I think it’s because it has been very sunny here or she losing her marbles…. (I’d rather she lost tennis balls – they are much more fun but apparently people lose marbles.)

We went for a walk yesterday on the common at Brancaster Staithe which is right near my campsite …. and it just seemed like the right thing to do….

Mummy said all she needed was a larger and lime from the Jolly Sailor and she’d be all set.

This weekend I went for a trip with the fam’ly. Mummy, Jazzy and the ‘Uman. Here’s us…

We went to Burnham Market international horse trials. It was so amazing that I have decided what I want to be when I grow up…

I want to be a cross counrty race horse!!!! These are a bit bigger than me… and they have some fairly large people on their backs. I checked on the tinterweb and the rules say you have to have a rider. (That’s the peoples on the backs.) so then I looked very carefully at my Mummy and the ‘Uman… then I looked again and decided they were not suitable for my purposes. So, I have decided then that I will adopt a people puppy to train for this purpose.

If you are interested in the position, the tinterweb says I should ask for a resumee and your weight.

The interview process will begin pretty soon… I have learnt while training Mummy that you aren’t all as clever as me and it can take you a while to get the idea. So… chop, chop… we’ve got work to do!

See? Scary Huh!

The ‘Uman and it’s mother took us up a ‘mountain’ (I use the term loosley as several people actually ran past us as we walked to the top) called Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales.

It was wet.

It was cold.

It was foggy.

It was brilliant.

‘Cept when we got lost at the top and missed the right path, we came down the wrong side of the ‘mountain’. Instead of finishing at Horton-in-ribblesdale where Mummy was waiting with her flu germs to pick us up. We ended up in Clapham. Not too far away…. just the other side of the ‘mountain’.

The hunchback with me here is the ‘Uman’s Mummy. She was wandering around the summit…. three times…. before she tried to follow the GPS machine off a cliff. That would have made it very difficult for Mummy and her flu germs to find us, wouldn’t it?

Some mens came to Jaaz’s campsite this morning…. really early. Mummy was still asleep when she left the house I think. Anyway the mens have been very, very, very busy. Uncle Ian says they have only had 1 brew and fourteen ciggies. I think he was winding up the ‘Uman who is stuck in the info’mation centre with me and Jazz.

I’ll tell you more about when I don’t have to be secrets from the ‘Uman!

I managed to find out more about this conservation weekend stuff….

Basicall all the people who came to stay at Jazz’s Hostel for the weekend worked on her campsite too. They made me a new playground to go looking at animals and birds. Mummy calls it an ‘abitat area, she also put up info’mation signs so that when more peoples come to visit they can make some of the stuff too. Like birdie boxes…

All this stuff is very good for the ‘vironment and getting the birdies and animals to stay on Jazz’s campsite so the peoples can see them and say how pretty they are. Mummy asked Uncle Nic to make the Wellie boot ‘cos it is the campsite logo… It’s all very clever. Do you want to come and see it?

Mummy and the ‘Uman comandeered the kitchen this morning to begin preparations for Conservation weekend. I asked Jazz what this was….

“Jazz?”

“Yes ‘No Merlin!’”

“What’s conservation weekend?”

“It’s when lots of peoples come and stay in my hostel and work on my campsite. They do lots of muddy jobs and get to go and play with my sticks up in the woods.”

“Oh.”

“Look… I’ll show you. This picture was from last year of the peoples playing in my woods.”

I thought about this for a while.

“Jazz?”

“Yes ‘No Merlin!’”

“Where were you at the conservation weekend?”

“In the information centre.”

“Why didn’t you go playing with the sticks in the woods?”

“Because some of the peoples were playing with big saws and it was dangerous for doggies.”

“Oh.”

“Maybe this year you can go and play with the peoples and the sticks in the woods. Would you like that ‘No Merlin!’?”……

“Huh!”
